Corsicana is an industrial and commercial center. The area has the longest continuous oil flow in Texas, with a total production in excess of 200 million barrels since 1895. Minerals produced in the area include oil, gas, sand, and gravel. Navarro County is located in north central Texas, with the Trinity River shaping its northeast boundary. The landscape is a mix of level and rolling blacklands with some woodland areas of oak, hickory and pine. Navarro County has also three large lakes. In the early 21st century a diverse array of manufacturing concerns, agribusinesses, and oilfield operations dominate the area's economy. Beef cattle, cotton, hay, grain sorghum, wheat, herbs, and corn are the chief agricultural products. More than 316,000 barrels of oil and 430,000 cubic feet of gas-well gas were produced in the county in 2004.
